You’re here because you or your child is struggling…
Are they having behavioral challenges?
How did it get to this point… where your child is running your house?
I imagine you avoid asking your child to do things out of fear of the explosion to follow. You know your child should be in that swim lesson, but he will lose it. The schedule change, the loud pool, the pulling him away from the video games… it’ll be a shouting match. And when you’re there, you wince at the thought of other parents looking at you. The worst part is that you know he loves swimming, so he’s just getting in his own way!
Does your child have autism?
Raising a child on the spectrum is beautiful and challenging at the same time. You know your child is capable of so much, but sometimes you feel like you’re avoiding land mines.
Getting things under control shouldn’t be painful or demeaning for you or your child. Coaching should build upon your child’s strengths and get you both what you want.
Other people make it look so easy…
When does parenting become fun for you, too?
You feel like a spinning top. Always one step behind, nagging people, do this, do that. When did you start drinking so much? How many special gummies have you had this weekend? You’re nagging your partner, too. Why don’t they get it?
You see other parents protecting time for themselves, wearing the right kind of jeans, playing catch with their kids. They look like a family in a Nicholas Sparks novel. What are they doing that you aren’t?
I know you’ve tried… and tried.
All the self-help books, research articles, online tips, and guides aren’t making things better. In fact, not only have they left you without answers… they’ve probably given you more questions!
How do I teach my child to advocate for himself?
How do I teach my child to do something hard without screaming?
How do I set up my evenings so that being at home is something I look forward to?
How do I set my child up to be happy and live a life he’s proud of?
How do I get my child just to be nice to me?
How do I calm her down?
How do I calm MYSELF down?
You’re not alone in needing help!
Lots of parents are struggling like you. You might not see it, but the stress, frustration, and overwhelm… they feel it, too.
For things to change, you have to do something different. A tantrum over going to swim now can turn into a tantrum to going to class or work….
Your child will grow up and need to know how to deal with adversity, feel imperfect, and still work toward living the amazing life they are capable of. So what are you going to teach them? Settle and just survive? Or will you teach them to keep trying and work hard to be happy?
I know you’re pulled in a million directions.
“There isn’t time.”
“Maybe things will work out when he gets older.”
Or things could start to get better now.
I’m here to help.
I can help you build on your current skillset so that you can enjoy a wonderful, caring, reciprocal relationship with your child.
Whether your child has behavioral challenges, is on the spectrum, or just needs some tips on developing a warm, caring relationship with your new infant, I’m here to help you.
I want you both to feel supported, strong, and in control. Here’s how we’ll do it:
We’ll work together to build a strategy that fits in your life. We aren’t trying to change you or your child. We’re trying to support the relationship so you can thrive together and apart.
The strategies we’ll use are grounded in science. We’ll adapt them to your life through a virtual format. We’ll focus more on using low tech high-impact techniques to remove the guessing you do in your life. We’ll teach your child how to calm their own body to make good decisions and be responsible for those decisions. You’ll learn how to calm your own body, too.
We’ll work on creating goals and habits that lead to results, and we’ll work through all the reasons previous attempts to change haven’t worked.
We’ll work backward from what you want things to look like in your home and build the foundation to get there through small achievable steps.
Maybe you don’t know where to start?
And you just want general help? For those families, I offer treatment packages to get you through the basics:
“Behavioral Change Package”
This 10-week program outlines a communication and behavioral guidance system to make lasting, concrete changes in your home.
“Autism Package”
This 10-12 week package helps you set up your home to support language skills, reduce challenging behaviors, and give you the tools to support your child.
Have you just had a new baby?
You’re filled with so many emotions. How can you love something this much? And how can you feel this incompetent? You love this baby, and you want to be everything for her… but all the prenatal classes didn’t talk about what happens after the hospital.
You’re a respected leader at work, in charge because you know how to get things done. But here you are with this little being, constantly second-guessing yourself. Why can’t you feel like those other parents at the park who look so happy and in control as they play with their children?
Maybe you’ve documented the most Pinterest-perfect, Instagram-worthy life on social media, but it’s not what your day really looks like. Nothing is showing you crying in the car. Is there anywhere you can be real?
“0-3 Package”
This 10-12 week package helps you develop that first relationship with your baby. In addition to the “scientific stuff like increased cognitive skills, emotional regulation,” we’ll also talk about how to enjoy your relationship with your child.
You can be the parent you want to be.
Mindful, effective parenting is what you and your child need. Steer clear of the reactivity and frustration that so easily creep into the picture!
Your child is the most important thing in your life. You could wait and see what happens or start investing in their development right now. Coaching doesn’t mean someone is telling you what you’re doing wrong for an hour. It builds upon what works for you and uses it to achieve your goals.
Let’s start making the most important relationship in your life fun!
