Jessica* knows there’s something different about
her child.

But she isn’t sure what.

“Don’t worry. Your brother was a late talker, too.”

“It’s so nice that your kid plays alone. You’re lucky!”

“The baby is so little. Wait and see what happens. Toddlers are active.”

Simple daily activities seem harder for her than other parents. Words like “echolalia, repetitive behaviors, anxiety, and sensory needs” are floating around. She loves her baby the way they are, but she wants to know that they are happy.

What if her baby needs help? What if she doesn’t grow out of it? Is she going to need to quit her job?

Everyone gives Jessica different advice. Sometimes it helps; sometimes it doesn’t.

How can she figure out what is happening or if anything is happening? Does anyone work with young children?

Mike* is frustrated.

“You’re being lazy.”

“Why can’t you just get this done?”

“Don’t you care about me?”

Mike can’t tell you how he feels. It’s too much – or maybe too little.

He isn’t the man he wants to be. He’s distracted. He doesn’t know why it takes three hours to cook dinner, and the kitchen is a huge mess.

The worst part – the people he loves most think he doesn’t care.

Kim* feels lost.

Shoulders tense, teeth clenched, Kim takes several deeps breathes before going into the house. Her son Jackson* is smart, talented, funny!

But others don’t always see how amazing he is, making it harder for him to achieve everything she knows he can.

Why can’t he just complete that assignment? He could have been done with his homework three times over in the time he’s spent complaining.

He’s not a bad kid. He’s just so often misunderstood.

Kim doesn’t want to pressure Jackson, and she doesn’t want to yell. But Jackson needs to be more independent.

How can she help him be happy and reach his full potential?

Kim is nervous and stressed. There’s got to be a point where this gets easier.

Confusion and stress don’t have to last.

You love your child and family and want the best for them. That means understanding what they need and what’s causing the challenges they’re experiencing. Or understanding how to help yourself!

A diagnostic evaluation and coaching can help you or your child get on the right track.

You don’t have to wait any longer.

Living their next steps…

After describing her concerns on the phone, Jessica scheduled a diagnostic evaluation with me in her home for the next weekend. It was a hard morning, but having an expert work with her at home made her feel comfortable and secure.

She was able to find out what was happening and when she was ready, creating a plan got her started on the path to early intervention. She capitalized on the power of early brain growth. A few months later, there are changes in her child, as well as in herself. She’s on the floor playing with her child, feeling more connected.

Mike needed help understanding how his actions impacted others and how other people’s actions impacted him.

Starting coaching was difficult at first, but it got easier to talk about himself. It became comforting to know he had someone to talk to where he could be himself.

The concrete tips for problem-solving, organizing his home life, and understanding others allowed for measurable changes in his quality of life.

Kim needed a path to help Jackson succeed.

It took time, but judgment-free realistic methods of parent coaching helped her structure her home in a way that fostered her child’s independence and happiness. Things aren’t always perfect, but she feels better at home without the arguing and stress.

Jackson is doing more to help himself, and she can see how proud he is. Kim feels more confident that Jackson will navigate his life and be happy.
